About Me
Bianca Pole is a Sydney-based children's writer/illustrator, artist and practising paediatric occupational therapist, with a passion for writing stories that celebrate inclusivity, acceptance and neurodivergence. Growing up, Bianca always had a love for unconventional and often underappreciated little animals and loves representing their quirks and talents in her stories.
As an occupational therapist, Bianca brings an informed understanding of human experience, development and individuality to her storytelling. Her creative background spans painting, drawing, figurative art, sculpture and traditional vintage toy making. With her handcrafted mohair bears and oil paintings being exhibited at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and receiving multiple awards.
When she's not in her studio, Bianca enjoys spending time with her fiancé and mischief of fancy rats, who are the inspiration for her stories.
‘Tadpole Artistry’ aims to showcase Bianca's evolving journey as a writer, illustrator and artist. Inspired by curiosity, new beginnings and creative exploration, she strives to make every story with the honesty, openness and wonder of a child.
